Tartaric Acid

Tartaric acid is a diprotic organic acid that naturally occurs in many fruits and vegetables such as bananas grapes, and tamarind. It is commonly added to other foods to provide a sour taste.

This product appears as colorless crystals, is soluble in water and alcohol, and has an acidic taste, with a melting point of 170 °C. In addition, tartaric acid is an antioxidant that is typically added to products such as carbonated drinks, fruit jellies, gelatin, and effervescent tablets.
