This compound is used in the food industry as a sweetener, humectant, improver, texturizer, preservative, and anti-caking agent. It is also employed as a sugar substitute in a variety of foods, including low-calorie and sugar-free products, as well as in pharmaceutical and oral care products, such as toothpaste and chewing gum.
