Disodium EDTA or Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid disodium salt (EDTA 2Na) with the chemical formula C₁₀H₁₄N₂Na₂O₈ is a colorless and water-soluble substance. Disodium EDTA is a chemical raw material used in cleaning agents, liquid soaps, shampoos, agrochemicals, color film fixer solutions, water purifiers, and as a pH adjuster.
This substance is also used in the detergent industry as a stabilizer, in the chemical industry as a metal carrier in regeneration systems, in the cosmetic and personal care industry as a stabilizer for formulations, and in the printing industry as a hardness controller and stabilizer.
In addition, in paper pulp production, this chemical prevents the activity of metal ions, particularly Mn (II), and in the textile industry, by chelating metal ions, it prevents impurities in synthesized dyes.
